Connect your Webflow CMS to Ordinal to easily schedule updates to your website blog, case studies, etc.
How to connect a Webflow CMS Collection
You can connect your Webflow CMS here.
Step 1 - Connect your Webflow Site
Hit "Connect" on the Ordinal integration page, and select the site that you would like Ordinal to have access to be able to publish to.
Step 2 - Select the CMS Collection
Once connected, select the appropriate CMS Collection that you want Ordinal to be able to publish to.
Step 3 - Map Fields
Tell Ordinal which fields in your Webflow CMS correspond to the Blog Title and Blog Content in the Ordinal editor. All other custom fields from your CMS will be pulled in automatically and can be edited within the post editor.
And that's it! From here, you will be able to create a new Webflow post to schedule CMS posts. For more info on how to do so, check out our article on the Webflow Editor here.
Editing Your Webflow Connection
Need to change which CMS fields are mapped or update your blog URL? You can easily edit your connection settings at any time.
Go to Settings > Social Profiles.
Find your connected Webflow profile in the list.
Click the three-dot menu (...) on the right.
Select Edit CMS Fields to update your mappings and URL.
Required Permissions
To publish content on your behalf, we need to request a few permissions from Webflow. Here’s what we ask for and why:
Read and write CMS content: Allows us to publish, update, and preview your blog posts.
Read and write assets: Needed to upload images and other media for your posts to your Webflow site.
Read sites and user info: Helps us identify your Webflow sites and collections so you can choose which one to connect.
There is no information about specific Webflow user roles (like Admin) being required to connect an account. You simply need to have access to the Webflow site and the CMS collection you intend to use.
Troubleshooting Common Issues
Can I connect my CMS if it's not on Webflow?
Ordinal currently only supports scheduling content to Webflow CMS. Other CMS tools are not supported yet.
"This Webflow collection is already connected to another workspace."
This error means the CMS collection you're trying to connect is already linked to a different Ordinal workspace. You'll need to disconnect it from the other workspace before you can connect it here.
No CMS collections are found for your site.
If you don't see any collections to choose from, it means the selected Webflow site doesn't have any CMS collections set up yet. You can either select a different site or go to your Webflow dashboard to create a new collection and then try connecting again.
"Invalid URL" error.
When setting your blog URL, make sure you enter a valid and complete URL for the base path of your blog posts (e.g., https://www.your-site.com/articles).
