This article covers the Slack Scheduling Integration.

With Ordinal we also integrate with Slack in two other ways:

Connect your Slack workspace to schedule messages and announcements directly from Ordinal. This guide will walk you through connecting a Slack profile, explain necessary permissions, and help you troubleshoot common issues.

How to connect a Slack scheduling profile

Connecting your Slack channel is a straightforward process. Once connected, you'll be able to schedule posts to your connected Slack channel.

  1. Click the Connect a Profile button under the Scheduling Profiles section

  2. Click on Slack as the channel you'd like to connect.

  3. Follow the prompts within Slack to grant Ordinal the necessary permissions to post messages and access channel information.

  4. Once you've authorized the connection, you'll be redirected back to Ordinal. Your Slack channel will now appear in your list of connected profiles.

Account types and required permissions

You can connect any Slack channel from a workspace you are a member of. The integration allows you to schedule messages and announcements to that specific channel.

Troubleshooting common issues

Running into trouble? Here are some common issues and how to resolve them.

Connection Timed Out

If you receive an error message like "Session expired," your connection attempt may have timed out. Please return to the Social Profiles page and try the connection process again.

Account Already Connected to Another Workspace

A Slack channel can only be connected to one Ordinal workspace at a time. If you see an error that the account is already integrated, it means it's linked to another workspace. If you believe this is an error, please contact support for assistance.
