How to connect an Instagram profile
Navigate to Settings > Social Profiles
Click the Connect a Profile button under the Scheduling Profiles section
Click on Instagram as the channel you'd like to connect
Important: Before proceeding, make sure you are logged into the correct Instagram account you wish to connect by visiting instagram.com in your browser. You can always click "More" -> "Switch Accounts" on Instagram to login to the correct account.
You will be redirected to Instagram to authorize the connection. You must accept all requested permissions for the integration to work correctly.
Once you've authorized the connection, you'll be redirected back to Ordinal and your account will be connected.
Account Types and Required Permissions
To ensure a successful connection and access to all features, please review the following requirements.
Required Account Type
In order to schedule posts from Ordinal, your Instagram account needs to be either a Business or Creator account.
In order to convert your account to a Business or Creator account, follow these instructions.
The only difference between the two account types when it comes to Ordinal is that only Business accounts can schedule Instagram stories and Creator accounts cannot.
Required Permissions
When you connect your account, you'll be asked to grant Ordinal several permissions. It's important to approve all of them for the integration to function correctly. Here’s what we ask for and why:
Content Publishing: Allows Ordinal to publish posts, Reels, and Stories on your behalf.
Manage Comments: Enables you to view and manage comments on your posts from within Ordinal.
Access Insights: Lets Ordinal gather analytics data for your posts and profile performance.
Basic Profile Information: Allows Ordinal to display your profile name, username, and profile picture.
If you don't grant all the requested permissions, the connection will fail, and you'll need to restart the process.
