Connect your Dub account to use a custom short domain for your links. When you use this feature, analytics for your shortlinks will be available both in your Dub account and synced directly into Ordinal.

Note: The Dub shortlink integration is only available for Pro plans and above.

How to Connect Your Dub Account

Connecting your Dub account is a straightforward process:

  1. Navigate to Settings > Integrations > Dub

  2. Click the Connect button.

  3. You will be prompted to authorize Ordinal to access your Dub account.

Quick tip: Before you connect, make sure you have a custom domain already set up in your Dub workspace. Once connected, an "Ordinal Links" folder will be created in your Dub account to help keep your links organized.

How to Use Shortlinks in Your Posts

Once your Dub account is connected, using it is easy:

  1. Inside a post, click on any link you've added.

  2. A small pop-up will appear with an option to Shorten Link.

  3. Toggle this option on. The link will automatically be shortened using your primary domain from Dub.

If you haven't connected a Dub account, links will be shortened using the default ordnl.link domain.

Duplicating Posts with Shortlinks

When you duplicate a post, new shortlinks will be automatically generated for the new post. The original shortlinks from the source post will not be reused, ensuring that analytics for each post are tracked separately.

Understanding Your Link Analytics

With the Dub integration, you gain access to a wealth of data about how your links are performing. The analytics that are synced include:

  • Clicks over time

  • Top-performing links

  • Top destination URLs

  • Clicks by country and region

  • Referral sources (where your clicks are coming from)

  • Device, browser, and operating system breakdowns

You'll be able to view these analytics within Ordinal (you can access this on your Analytics Overview page > Clicks Overview) as well as your Dub account.

How to Disconnect the Dub Integration

If you need to disconnect your Dub account, you can do so at any time.

  1. Go to the Dub integration settings page.

  2. Find your connected account in the list.

  3. Click the three-dot menu icon and select Disconnect.

What Happens When You Disconnect?

  • Existing shortlinks will continue to work without any interruption.

  • Analytics for those links will no longer be synced into Ordinal, but you can still view them in your Dub account.

  • Any new links you shorten will use the default ordnl.link domain.
