You can change when a scheduled post publishes, or unschedule the post entirely to return it to a draft state.
Rescheduling a post
To change the date or time of a scheduled post:
Open the post
Click the Edit Scheduling button in the sidebar
Choose a new date and time
Click Schedule to confirm
The post stays scheduled but with the updated publish time.
Quick reschedule from the calendar
You can also drag a post directly on the calendar to change its date. This moves the post to the new day - if the post is already scheduled, this will automatically reschedule the post for the new date, at the same time.
Unscheduling a post
To unschedule a post:
Open the post
Click the Edit Scheduling button in the sidebar
Select Unschedule from the dropdown menu
The post moves back to Finalized status and will no longer publish automatically.
What you can't unschedule
You cannot unschedule a post that is:
Currently publishing - the post is in the process of going live
Already published - the post has already been posted to the platform
If you need to remove a published post, you'll need to delete it directly from the social platform.
Cross-post scheduling
When a post targets multiple platforms:
All channels share the same scheduled time by default
You can choose which accounts to include when scheduling
Rescheduling updates the time for all scheduled channels
If you need different publish times for different platforms, create separate posts for each (use the Duplicate feature to save time).
Troubleshooting
I can't find the Edit Scheduling button
Make sure:
The post is Scheduled
You are signed into Ordinal and not viewing the post via a public access link
You're looking in the sidebar on the right side of the post editor
The post already published but I wanted to change the time
Once a post is published, you can't reschedule it. For future posts, double-check the scheduled time in the calendar or post sidebar before the publish time arrives.
